Allergy Information

Many of the products at Red Thread Confections contain peanuts or tree nuts. Thus all of our chocolates should be avoided by anyone with peanut or nut allergies.

Soy lecithin (less than 0.5%) is used as an emulsifier by chocolate manufacturers in the processing of cocoa beans into chocolate.

All of our confections contain dairy products.

Glucose syrup made from wheat is used in some of our products.

Shelf Life and Storage

Our chocolates are made fresh and contain no preservatives. It’s best to store them in a cool dry location. They will keep that way for several weeks. You may store our confections, tightly wrapped to avoid condensation which may mar the surface finish (they will still taste fine, however), in the refridgerator for 2 months. For optimal flavor, bring them up to room temperature before serving.

Where ever possible, we try to use organic, fair trade or local ingredients. Below are a few of the choices we’ve made.

  • Fair trade organic chocolate made from South American cocoa beans (the highest quality cocoa bean in the world)
  • Organic all natural colored cocoa butter
  • Fair trade Ethiopian coffee
  • Well Earth Sustainable Business Initiatives - Fair Trade Organic Indian Vanilla
  • Maple syrup from Stuart & John’s Sugar House
  • Pecans from Our Daily Nuts in Delmar, NY
  • All natural dried fruits (no sulfites)
  • Organic spices and citrus peel
  • Organic or all natural dairy products from small farmers
